A new Toyota Supra on its way?

I heard so many rumours regarding an upcoming new Toyota Supra. I would love to see that happen. It sounds like there might be a Supra concept unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show, which opens for the media on 13th January 2014.

SupraToyota won’t stop dropping hints about a new Toyota sports car.  Tetsuya Tada (Toyota GT86 chief engineer) has also said the company has asked him to “make a successor to the Supra as soon as possible”. And a few high-level Toyota execs admitted at the Tokyo Motor Show that the company plans to “shock the world with a Supra concept car”.

Supra

So why now? Well, it’s pretty obvious…  upcoming Acura NSX? 😉

NSXNothing confirmed yet, but we hear about a “400+ horsepower hybrid sports car”, which would likely be a follow up to the FT-HS concept we saw back in 2007.

Once again, only rumours but the production model could be launched in 2017 and feature a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, outfitted with a hybrid system.

Supra

I can’t wait to hear more about this upcoming Supra! But for now, unless Toyota decides to give us more info, we’ll have to wait for the opening of the Detroit Auto Show.

But here is something to make time go faster, enjoy!

Bye! x
